34:14 marine biologist here! it's Orcas! There's a pair of orcas, known as Port and Starboard, off the coast of south Africa have been observed hunting sharks specifically for their livers only. Orcas are super smart and very adaptive in their hunting behaviors

I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if your intuition is telling you not to go somewhere, explore somewhere, do something or take a tour, you don’t need to buck up or do it scared. If you want to, go for it. But it’s also perfectly valid to listen to your intuition and NOT do the thing.

I think you might be misinterpreting the House that Followed the Rules. The family had been in that house for a while. Weird stuff did not start until the British officer came to visit and "enquire" about the ownership of the house. Such an event in colonial India often was a precursor to the family being violently forced out so a colonizer could move in. The house began its gentle but firm scare campaign THAT NIGHT. The unjust complaint made about the contributor's grandfather undoubtedly came from the officer who wanted the house. More harassment would have followed until the family had been driven from their home. It is no coincidence that the same night that her grandfather received the complaint, the house made the most frightening demand yet--one it knew they would not follow: "Leave the child." They ran that night. I strongly suspect that the grandfather would have been greatly harmed and the family violently forced out had they remained. I think the House that followed the Rules saved that family by driving them out. I think it was very much like the Encanto house after all. I also wonder if the British Officer ended up moving into the house and whether his mysterious death happened there.

16:30 everyone in the burger king story is so stupid. "he was breaking into a car but no crime was committed" "we know he's willing to break into a car and hide in bushes for an hour but it's totally cool to just hang out outside and provoke him"

To the listener in Michigan: You might have heard badgers. They make some pretty wild sounds when they are fighting and mating. Very guttural and could sound like metal screamo.

Can’t lie, I’m newer here and it leaves a big impression on me that you’re supporting small businesses and boosting early on in the video. Love this.

In hispanic culture, i grew up being told that if i hear whistling to ignore it. If it sounded near, it was actually faraway BUT if it sounded far it was actually near and that one was the one you had to resist turning around for. I heard the whistle once, when i was in my 20s. I had gotten back from a party and heard the whistle right behind me if not very close by. I remembered the stories from my childhood and instantly sobered up and went inside 😂

Biology major here: I took a class that focused on shark anatomy for a long unit, and sharks have a massive liver, as it helps their body maintain buoyancy. If you look up a diagram of a shark’s anatomy, its liver is a large percentage of their body and is a massive organ compared to all others. I’m just going to make an educated guess that it’s the easiest organ to pull out in one large piece with minimal effort, but I could be wrong. A shark with a damaged liver will quickly lose buoyancy, balance, and won’t be able to function or live for long.

Coyotes are known for having near surgical precision when they scavenge an animal which can often lead people to jump to aliens or cult activity when in reality they’re targeting some of the softer areas of the body to access, tongues, eyes, genitalia, are all easy snacking to a scavenger! Learned from a veterinary pathologist who’s seen plenty of it! 31:25

I had sleep paralysis when I was an adolescent to about the age of 28 (so this was 10 years ago). The only reason, that I can figure anyways, that I no longer have it is because of my cat Westley.

When I first got him he would sleep in the crook of my arm with his head on my chest. One night I had an episode, the first one since getting my cat. I felt helpless, scared, even though I knew this thing never hurt me, it didn’t matter. In that moment, I don’t know how I did it, but I was able to glance down at Westley and saw he was fast asleep. This cat reached to everything and was very possessive of me (Siamese, go figure) and when I saw he wasn’t reacting something clicked in my brain: If Westley isn’t reacting, that thing must not be there.

It was like a literal switch flipped and the thing just vanished like breath being held too long. Since that night I’ve never had another episode. My sweet Westley passed away last year, but I think he is still keeping watch.
