  explaination on why cloud did what ca could during niblehiem, in ff7 flash back he has pre ememptive materia so thats how he got the sneak attack (not sure if it was on purpose or not but its a nice explaination on a minor additional to his kit ) <br>and cloud although doesn&apos;t have hidden power or any powers but he was operating on sheer adrenaline and an iron will to protect his home and friends and due to the blow he caused sephiroth before, sephy was kinda of having a bit of a mental blank on how such a grunt was able to do these things that allowed cloud to toss him into the mako down below. <br>cloud mental strength is a bit of a up and down thing though out the entire series. he lacked the necessary mental fortitude and psychological stability to become a soilder but cloud has a strong will. its why he can do what he can do.

  The thing for Cloud is, I believe, the superhuman strength humans get in our fight or flight mode, called hysterical strength. The one where some people can lift objects much heavier than they originally could lift. His enraged emotions for Tifa, and the fact he got stabbed by Seph&apos;s sword, may have triggered that mode and allowed him to throw Sephiroth across the room. A combo of his adrenaline plus hysterical strength may be the reason he was able to do what he did. I don&apos;t think there was a secret lore implication there.<br><br>Or it could have been Japanese main character bs, but I prefer my original thought better XD

  I like to think the way cloud was able to beat Sephiroth is because he&apos;s chosen by the planet in a sense.

  So, in the original ff7, during the flashback scenes with cloud and sephiroth, cloud has the pre emptive materia, which let&apos;s you get the jump on enemies. &nbsp;It&apos;s a small detail, but it&apos;s really neat
