Love this video, thanks so much for sharing. I feel better with that to expect for our trip. At what point on the mountain should we change into the warm gear? Also, can you provide a few links to the huts that are available to stay in at the highest point? I believe its the 8th station?

Great video. Thank you for sharing the trail. I do have some questions if you don't mind. My family is coming from Kyoto and plan to take the overnight bus to Mount Fuji. We are traveling light as we will have our luggage shipped to Tokyo. How strict are the gear requirements? Some people are saying you have to have boots, rain gear, warm clothing. Honestly, we don't have room in our luggage space to carry extra boots. We've all done hikes in our trail shoes and comfortable with that. For reference we have done day hikes like Mount Whitney, Mount Lassen with cinder cones, Tahoe and other places. Would be be okay or would they stop us from day hiking?
