  I retired at age 58 after getting laid off. It took a few months to find the joy of freedom but it was the best thing that could have happened.

  Right On! &nbsp;This is absolutely the best retirement advice I&apos;ve heard. &nbsp;Honest and to the point. &nbsp;We are given the gift of a clean canvas and can fill it with whatever gives us satisfaction. &nbsp;Isn&apos;t that what we&apos;ve always dreamed of? &nbsp;Just because it will take some effort on our part, that&apos;s no reason to give up. &nbsp;Everything in life takes effort, why should a satisfying retirement be any different?

  If you retire and then have to set an alarm and report somewhere for any kind of work, you aren’t retired. &nbsp;You’re semi or part-time employed.

  Retired at 54 now 58 I have zero regrets I love being retired don’t care anything from my work life best thing I did was delete everyone’s contact information now I play golf and workout

  Just retired! 63, took my pension and SS.<br>No regrets yet. &nbsp;<br>No more boring meetings<br>No more evaluations to perform <br>No more emails<br>No more weekends, late nights, and wining staff members.<br><br>I’m loving it<br><br>Do it!!

  I had a manager that was still working at 65, while I retired at 56. &nbsp;I did a little drawing of my own countdown clock on the white board in my cube...adding to it each month. &nbsp;This manager told me he wouldn&apos;t want to do a countdown clock because it was &quot;like a countdown to dying&quot;. &nbsp;I told him &quot;It&apos;s just the opposite, it&apos;s a countdown to living&quot;. &nbsp;He was rather speechless when I said that. &nbsp;He was a corporate yes man that couldn&apos;t imagine life without work, while I couldn&apos;t imagine anymore work in my life. &nbsp;The fear of no purpose in retirement is a direct result of corporate brainwashing, because they want you to believe your purpose in life should be contributing to a company&apos;s bottom line while giving you a pizza party(but hey, only take 1 slice so everyone can eat) instead of a raise after a record fiscal year. &nbsp;Only purpose I need in retirement is waking up each day and enjoying my total freedom!
