  Great video, I think most people don't realise how to fully utilise battery and solar and free power window plans, I have only had a 20kw battery a month now, but it's fully running my house 21hrs free and the other 3hrs are from free charge window, great savings, and the battery is very efficient 😊

  We have had zero power bills for nearly four years now since getting batteries. <br>But even with 10kw of solar thats not enough to justify buying an ev. <br>My advice ? Get a low interest green loan and spread the cost of repayment over at😮 least five years so the savings offset the repayments by at least 80 percent. Thats how we financed our first 5kw install and made it very easy.<br>Get tier 1 or you will get screwed. SMA or Fronius inverter. Our older polycrystalline panels are still pumping out as good as new. SMA inverters are bullet proof reliable. <br>If you dont have north facing roof with low shading your gonna fall short. To many installs are hog tied by lousy orientation of the panels. <br>Cheap systems die within four to five year&apos;s. <br>Some say work the batteries hard to maximise ROI. But I prefer to avoid flogging them and run with the sun as much as possible and avoid heat stressing the batteries. The harder you pull, the more likely &nbsp;you will form dendrites in the cells. Oversize and go for high stacks so you get higher voltage amd greater efficiency. Higher stacks recharge faster too. <br>Typically we only draw about 25 to 30 percent per night. <br>We try to keep draw below 2.5 kw when batteries only.<br>Good luck and make sure you use an installer with a long track record. The shonky guys only last a few years max. These guys seem legit.

  Great video, and one thing that a lot of younger couples with or without kids forget is that solar on its own is a waste of money if you are both out of the house during the day and can’t run the high energy consumption equipment when solar is at maximum output so a battery and smart home is the way to go.

  Good video. I agree that I just don&apos;t think that people understand how to use power properly and maximise the benefits with minimal effort.<br>Also, most people don&apos;t understand how to compare energy retailers and choose one that gives them the best value for money. At the end of the day, you get the SAME POWER regardless of which energy retailer you go with, but there are so much differences between energy retailers. I crunch all the numbers at least once a year and the most expensive retailer can be 3 times more expensive than the cheapest.

  You both do a great job at educating us. Thanks. Could I suggest making about 10 videos of different scenarios, ranging from a house with a small family, to a very power demanding household, and in between cases?

  I hardly use my 20 kW solar, but rely mostly on battery 🔋 . <br><br>I have not drawn power from the grid in Melbourne Australia, in many months even in the depths of winter. <br><br>I rely on my 48 kWh three phase Sig, 25 kW Sig EC, and Ovo free electricity between 11am-2pm. <br><br>Sig gets charged to full within 2 hrs during the free window slot. We simply just draw from the battery all day and night when cloudy or no sun. <br><br>Typical daily usage is 20-40 kWh all seasons.

  Hi, audience from ACT<br>On Amber and with a 48kwh battery<br>we don’t get the import (very low in middle of the day, the lowest I saw was 6-7C and export rate (normally 7-12c at night) like QLD. I could manage to sell enough cover off the daily charge and Amber fees. Hope prices will be better. Otherwise no way to get ROI back any time soon<br><br>Amber AI is not doing anything with that kind of price range so I had to manually discharge the battery at night most of the time to get some money back
