The Yveltal thing is his community joke. You've had it right.

The YavelTALL thing is from his Pokemon Talk series, where Arceus is pronounced Arkoose.

His picks were interesting, and I'm glad Poseidon liked this video.

That said,
RAMBLE INCOMING

He's right about his Fairy pick being controversial, because Togekiss is better qualified than Togetic.
Togekiss has plenty of Pokedex entries that make it sound like a legendary.
Diamond/Pearl: "It will never appear where there is strife. Its sightings have become rare recently."
Black/White: "It shares many blessings with people who respect one another's rights and avoid needless strife."
Shield: "Known as a bringer of blessings, it's been depicted on good luck charms since ancient times."

And since he drew comparison to Cosmog, it evolves from Cosmog, to Cosmoem, then to Lunala or Solgaleo. So it fits to make such a Pokemon a 3rd stage legend.

Also I agree with some other commentators here and for the original video, Milotic or Kingdra would fit way better than Gyarados.

I wish that Stonjourner got a Gigantamax form. It would've been so cool.
17:28 As a long-time viewer of his channel, I can answer this. There is a somewhat old video on MandJTV's channel that explains the origin of him pronouncing Yveltal as "YAH-veltal". It was from one of his Poké Talk episodes(silly and entertaining talk show featuring Pokémon plushies) that featured the co-hosts Squirtle and Bulbasaur interviewing their special guest Yveltal. I forget the title of the specific video. There was another episode where they debated how to pronounce Arceus since the anime and movies hadn't been consistent. There's a number of inside jokes that come from this channel.

I was thinking Volcarona at first and was kinda getting upset a bit until he switched to it… I mean… Volcarona literally felt like a legendary Pokémon encounter in-game!…😅💫 (Just caught Shiny Mareep… can’t wait to send it to Legends ZA for mega Shiny Ampharos… ❤) Happy that the Rabsca still got picked honestly…

Just noticed this but in the og anime they had that whole fighting type tournament and counted geodude and marowak as fighting types making me wonder if they was doing what the old tcg did.
