Glad it arrived safe and sound and fits. If it ever breaks in our lifetime you know where to find me 😅 Thank you for the lovely gift, can’t wait to receive it. Very thoughtful of you and I really appreciate it!!

I watched Alex’s video first and couldn’t believe he was making it, but then to see that it gets covered up by a cover plate never to be seen? Your dedication to authenticity is commendable!

Was subbed to Steele but him making your spring was the first time I'd heard of your channel. Awful that the youtube algorithm never recommended you sooner. What a treat discovering a channel like this is!

Hi Norm. Watching Alec and Jamie make a replacement spring was fantastic. They just did not want to give up. An incredible effort. You must be well chuffed. Lovely gift you are sending them. 👏👏👍😄 PS I am looking forward to the day you take Little Lauren to visit Alec and have a play with the big steam hammer you sold him and which he’s currently restoring.

At 4:20 the body language when he is trying to remember where he put the particular part for that ongoing project is so familiar and relatable.

I felt that.

Especially since I did the same thing looking for my small square yesterday.
Yes I need to declutter that leg of my bench.

I really appreciate the fact that Alec made it as precise as it needed to be, but it still looks completely vintage. If someone was looking at this in 50 years, they may not know which was 150 years old and which was "new".

Really glad you called out Jamie too! Lads a bloody legend, brings a lot to Alecs channel, in-front and behind the camera.

It's nice to see where things go after they're made. It's really cool to think nobody is going see that spring again for another hundred plus years

The update I've been waiting for, I knew YouTube would eventually recommend me the video
