  Dex, spectacular scenery, big trees, a truly beautiful drive.  Those 2 big boulders will block regular pickups from geting thru.  Really enjoyed the video.  Good music, too.

  You could also connect with Sand Canyon from that road and end up in Moonridge.

  Wow my wife and I were just in that area I told her about Wild Horse meadow and it’s history and I come home and this pops up on my feed…. Big brother is listening

  If you can ever get up there in the spring the meadow is a lake and the road to the 38 is a river.  It’s pretty cool, I trail running up there a few times a month. I’ve heard many reasons why it’s closed, but never anything official. Back in the day the logging roads in the area were still open and you could explore the mountain.  Hiking on those old roads is cool because you still find logging and mining stuff because it’s too far back in to drag out.

  I tried to do this trail last Wednesday and couldn't even get through the beginning because there were too many large rocks and I didn't have my tool to at least remove the front mud flaps ...(Sigh) ..and with no spotter. Sadly had to turn around. Now I've upgraded to 33s  and removed the mud flaps so hopefully I can try again.

  I came up to that closed gate about a week after you. But got through because we always carry bolt cutters, wasn't me though🤫

  Thanks for this report! &nbsp;Been wanting to go back to this trail. &nbsp;Last year, I took it to check out the yellow post sites. &nbsp;Came in from the north end and ran into a broken down truck blocking the trail a few miles in. &nbsp;Backtracked and drove around to come in from the south side (angelus oaks side). &nbsp;I ran into that tree you noted at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZBCYHlTrcY&amp;t=555">9:15</a>. &nbsp;It was blocking the trail completely. &nbsp;Wasn&apos;t sure had the knowledge or gear to move it so I backed up to that overlook at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MZBCYHlTrcY&amp;t=510">8:30</a> and spent the night there. &nbsp; There&apos;s a trail leading down from the overlook. I walked down it a short ways but didn&apos;t think I wanted to take my 4Runner down there. &nbsp;In the morning, a Tacoma came up it. &nbsp;Must have been camped somewhere down that trail.
