1998 was the greatest summer of my childhood: MLB, little league, the Monday night wars and N64. I was 12 years old. Never forget that year.

I was 10 and Ken Griffey jr. Was as big as Michael Jordan to me even as a Dodgers fan. That was a great time to be a kid.

I was born May 6th 1998. I've always found it fun that I was born the day Kerry Wood had that amazing game

To give you an idea of how stacked the game was in 98, 64 players hit .300avg or above!!!!<br><br>2025- there was ONLY 7!

It saved it in the short term. The aftermath of why everyone was hitting home runs wiped away a lot of that good will.

The 1998 season also had cal Ripken take a day off ending his streak of 2,632 consecutive games played. The home run race was awesome. As a dodgers fan, it was bittersweet seeing mike piazza get traded to the marlins for Gary Sheffield. It was also the start of new ownership for the dodgers. One of the biggest surprises was the 1998 San Diego padres. However they were swept by the powerhouse yankees. Like the 1997 marlins, the 1998 padres also had a lot of players leaving for new homes.

Saw McGwire in Cleveland that year and he hit a nuke off the scoreboard in left. I was 8 and still remember it

I was 7 that year. But that was the year I fell in love with the game. Sammy vs the Big Mac. All those big names. Steroids or not, that was magic.
