Grant is a formidable opponent, but that was a very schoolboy error he made in the dining car. Man orders red wine with fish, you know he's a bounder.

I don't know why we're starting with From Russia With Love, but Liz has rapidly become one of my favorite reactors so I'm down with it

Grant actually survived and retired to an Island in New England where he hunts sharks.

Lotte Lenya (Rosa Krebb): Her husband, the stage composer Kurt Weill, wrote the tune with lyrics by Bertolt Brecht for the oft recorded "Mack the Knife" (“Die Moritat von Mackie Messer”) for their 1928 production, "The Threepenny Opera" (Die Dreigroschenoper). Lenya recorded a solo version of the song, and much later as a duet with Louis Armstrong. When the Nazis came to power in January 1933, they immediately banned the play. Lenya, Weill, and Brecht all left Germany within two months of the Nazi takeover.

Written by Ian Fleming. He was British naval intelligence during the war. The character of James bond had many inspirations. My favorite was a Yugoslav lawyer called Dusko Popov. A double agent pretending to work for German intelligence. Popov was fond of living like a playboy while working.

This one has the most realistic account of "tradecraft" of the time.

Love this movie, one of the best balanced bond films....gritty, cool and not too heavy on gadgets...

The guy with the cat is Ernst Stavro Blofeld. You'll see him a few more times. He's the basis for Mike Meyer's Dr Evil.
