"I don't want to deal with hypotheticals"<br><br>This isn't a hypothetical we're asking how you would handle situations that happen every day.

What's funny is all of her answers are "but eventually we do what we want"

If there is something I have noticed with every political party, they are incredibly good at being vague and dodging questions

It's rare to see someone actually pick apart the argument charitably and critique the method of communication itself rather than just critique the speaker. <br>Excellent work.

Big tent has bonfire. Onlooker asks, "What's with the smoke?" Person inside but far from the fire says, "It's cold outside."

It seems like her answers are always “no your right that does seem crazy but don’t worry, we will figure out how to do the crazy thing in a reasonable way…. After you elect us”

I am a full time union organizer and a member of Groundwork’s (Ashik’s Caucus) steering committee. I joined DSA after Bernie first ran in 2017 and I’ve been through the organization’s ups and downs, in three different chapters and two different youth sections. I would like to offer to talk to you on this channel about our platform and positions and maybe put some things in context. I promise to be very direct with my answers.

Very helpful. I find overly academic positioning annoying. If your position is that unions need protections to have democracy in the workplace, just say that. If your position is that police and prisons will be restricted to very few, violent criminals, and that social programs will remove most other forms of crime, then just say that. Maybe communicating clearly is more important then virtue signaling the right language to your in group. If it's a thought crime for you to say you will lock up violent criminals, then maybe I don't want you in charge of my town LOL.

Here's my advice to the DSA. And here I am quoting George Orwell: "Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word, or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent." Step 2: repeat Step 1. Step 3, repeat Step 1. If you look at our history, at influential left-leaning politicians like Al Smith and Huey Long, you see that they spoke plainly but forcefully. (Yes, I know Long was corrupt as all get-out, but my point stands.) This pseudo-academic jargon now in vogue has, with some justification and great success, been termed "word salad" by the Republican side. If "defund the police" doesn't <b>actually</b> mean abolish the police, then for God's sake call it something else. Because that's sure as hell what it sounds like to average person. Again, a gift to the Republicans. Hare-brained schemes like public grocery stores. If poor people need more assistance to buy food, then just raise the food stamp allowance. Ah, I could go on all day.

Is that bookshelf meant to be parody? That’s what I imagine Sam Bankman-Fried‘s goodreads profile looking like

This was a good watch. However, I was completely taken aback by the prominent place Ready Player Two took up on your bookshelf.

I'm a former DSA member and I did some digging recently and feel the exact same way as you do. You're certainly not alone. As I get older, I realize the truth is totally a more grey area than it is black and white.
