Lyle, your information is an absolute goldmine. You are an absolute treasure to the fitness industry, albeit unappreciated

Lyle's an absolute treasure. I don't care if he's mean or not, rightfully or not. Just filter it out if you have to and the training stuff is pure gold.

Lyle would love those new gym machines that have an electronic rep counter and timer for the set as a whole. Great way to keep track of progression when you’re logging it.

the only person I know that talked extensively on triple progression would be natural hypertrophy and his gentleman split routine, where it's 1-3 sets in a cascading system.
iirc, for squats it was 1-3 sets of 4 to 8 reps, and the progression was as follows:
4
5,4
6,5,4
7,5,4
8,6,4
increase weight.
like lyle said about it being good for those who are very advanced I guess that's why nh went for it.
on the flip side it's not a good progression for beginners, something I learned much later lol

34:14 yeah coming back after a massive lay off does create a sh* ton of cobwebs. the muscle size stays but the expression of strength is gone so there's no way you can even begin to hit the top.
I'd also trim my program to 1 working set for a bit for the same reason.
