She said for active women. So many in the comments missed that point. I work a desk job. I absolutely feel terrible if I eat breakfast. I am hungry all day and low energy whereas if I fast to noon, I am so energetic and much less hungry. So people need to really figure out what works for them individually.

I was diagnosed pre diabetic at 49 last year. In perimenopause. Weighed more than I had ever in my life. Weight kept going up no matter what. I’m an active person. Intermittent fasting combined with high protein low carb was a complete game changer for me. Didn’t start eating until 11-1. Worked out fasted. Weight started melting suddenly and now I’m in maintenance and muscle building. Lost between 17-20 lbs depending on the day. I guess every body is different.

Tried intermittent fasting for 2 years and struggled with belly fat and fatigue. Began eating according with circadian rhythm and finally seeing my body slowly begin to release fat. Am lifting heavy 3 days a week and walk outside daily. Feeling great!

As an active woman who struggles with PTSD, fasting has been LIFE SAVING for me. There’s no need for breakfast most days unless I wake up very hungry.

I've been following some of your advice for the past couple of months now and have personally noticed a huge difference eating nutrient rich foods first thing in the morning before going about my day. I'm a 29 y/o woman and for a long time, my regular weekday consisted of getting up and going to work, only having water/iced coffee, and not eating until 12/1pm. During this time, I felt very mentally foggy, anxious, and had a lot of cravings throughout the morning until lunch time. When I heard you talk about how women have a higher cortisol peak in the morning compared to men and should eat within an hour of waking up to dampen the spike, I decided to try it out for myself. Before leaving the house, I've been eating a bowl of Greek Yogurt with chia seeds and some berries, and the difference I've been feeling is crazy. My head feels so much clearer, I don't feel as sensitized to daily stressors as I did before, and my appetite feels way more under control. It feels like my Nervous System has been calmed down a lot, which is pretty cool to experience. I'm also making sure to eat nutrient rich/whole foods during lunch and dinner while also trying to fuel properly before and after workouts, which has also been helping me feel more leveled. Thank you Dr. Sims for all of your helpful information and keep up the good work! 😊

Oh my goodness, this makes so much sense! I used to run on an empty stomach all the time when I was younger. However, this changed when I turned 40. I simply can’t work out without having breakfast in the morning, and I get really tired quickly.
