  In 2017 a retired Falmouth police officer, and friend of John, pushed for a legislative bill that would allow John to make 80% of what a current patrolman with 10 years on the force makes. It passed and he was able to receive $4,466/month instead of what his wages were in 1981. It shouldn’t have taken Falmouth that long to take care of him and support him, but I am glad they are trying to make amends instead of pretending this injustice never happened. God bless John and his family.

  His surgeon is an artist. I understood him just fine, he sounds wonderful. This was a sickening story, but I was thrilled to see him alive.

  Dad looked like a model! He is still beautiful! Lord take the scars physical and mental from this family. I just can&apos;t imagine innocent people having to live this horror. &nbsp;So sad

  The mist messed up part of this story is how their town literally kicked the family out and gave up on them and the investigation into who shot John. That police department should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. Disgusting.

  Damn, the father was a badass. He gets shot, his jaw is ripped off in the process, he&apos;s bleeding everywhere and knows he&apos;s dying, and still he manages to write a message for the cops.
