  My comment will probably be buried but I was stationed at Campbell from 2014 to 2018. This isn&apos;t some high octane story but we were doing a two week field exercise in the back40 and halfway through, we had combat engineers make us an ad hoc FOB with their earth movers. Doing so we found (I can&apos;t stress enough that we didn&apos;t disturb or destroy) an old cemetery from the early 1800s. Maybe 8 or 9 head stones? Probably a old family that lived in the area or on the land. Right in the tree line of some ancient oak trees. That night one of the crows nest operators in the sentry MRAPs on obligatory nightwatch swore they saw figures in the tree line giving off zero thermal signatures, made my neck hairs stand up when they told us. The next night our 2nd platoon leader took a leak in the treeline and immediately buttoned up the moment he saw a woman walking about 30ft from him and apologized to her for having his wang out. She disappeared behind one of the trees and never showed up again. Jokes aside, this REALLY shook him up. He was not allowing anyone the grace of skepticism with how disturbed he was from the supposed encounter. <br>Campbell has some strange nooks and cranies. But it also is probably the best base I&apos;ve been stationed at.<br>Anyways, figured I&apos;d share my stories from my time there.

  Dog man encounters are impossible to really believe until you have one yourself. I had one about 6 years ago on night shift security, in Alabama. It was the only time in my life that I&apos;ve felt pure terror. I saw from the waist up, in bushes, hanging out of them. We locked eyes and, walked backwards, staring into its eyes, for a good 30 feet, got into my patrol truck, and locked myself in the guard shack. Got wrote up for it the next day. I&apos;m 6 foot 5 and, hunched down in bushes, this thing was my height. It had huge arms. Very big, muscular, pure white fur. Body builder figure but the head of a wolf. I will never forget it&apos;s shining yellow eyes, or it&apos;s open mouth as we locked eyes. Only saw him once in the 2 years I worked full time there.

  I do hate being the bearer of bad news, but I feel as though I owe you this, Luke. I am a retired truck driver. I hauled numerous loads of freight both into and out of that entire area. One evening I was almost out of duty hours for the day and just off of the northeast corner of the base there is a Pilot truck stop. I was able to get there early enough in the day that I was able to score a parking space for the night. I don&apos;t like to talk about it much but I began to feel like I was being watched. I had a small dog at the time that was always ready to &quot;go truckin&apos;.&quot; Anytime I was trying to get some sleep she would get in bed with me and curl up and sleep as long as I did.<br><br>She rarely made a sound but when she would bark you damned well better check it out because something was happening! At the Pilot I was asleep in my sleeper and all of the sudden she began raising hell on earth. I got up to see what was up and in the driver&apos;s side mirror I saw a huge ....thing walking toward the back of my trailer, and there was the most unholy stench in the air... it kinda reminded me of a wet dog that had been rolling in dog crap and dead animals. <br><br>I don&apos;t know what I saw but I knew that I never wanted to see it again!

  My brother saw one of these in our backyard the day Saw 2 came out on dvd (for whatever that’s worth). I thought it was the craziest thing I’d ever heard. Sorry to say I made fun of him. The story was: he was in the living room after watching the movie, went to the kitchen for a drink and saw something out the back sliding door… he said it was taller than a human, brown gray, haunched legs, wolf’s face, glaring stare - came out from under the deck, turned around about halfway through our 2 acre yard to make prolonged eye contact, then calmly walked to the tree line that leads to woods near the base of a mountain. I said “so, like Bigfoot? or a werewolf?” because it was 2005 and I had never heard of these. Years later they became popular online and I couldn’t believe my ears! He told me about it right after it happened, many years before he would have been influenced to think about them online, he was only 10 years old and this was 20 years ago - he had also never heard stories about dogmen before. Also, lots of creepy things happened at that house, I saw a very upsetting doppelganger (of my brother) there a few years earlier. Been wondering if they’re the same thing, like a shapeshifter who pretended to be him to scare me. Anyway… there’s that story.

  People probably won&apos;t see my comment but I have a fairly recent story. So, my unit went on summer block leave, I stayed back since I had to attend a course. Since I stayed back, I was put on Staff Duty, a 24 hr shift. I was the SDNCO (staff duty NCO) on July 2nd, 2023 (a month before OLE3). There was a massive windstorm that blew out the power around noon (3ish hours into the shift. As part of the SOP, I notified brigade SD and had to make sure that the arms rooms were locked, make sure the alarms weren&apos;t going off, and see if they still had power from the backup generators. I checked the first 2, they were good, I then started walking to the 3rd, passing the restrooms. It was pitch black in there and I heard laughing in there. &nbsp;No one was in the building except for me. I took a couple steps past the restroom trying to ignore it, I then heard footsteps going up the stairs at the end of the hall. I checked the last 3 arms rooms and decided to check the rest of the building to make sure that the offices were locked. I went up the causously went up the stairs. When I got to the top, I didn&apos;t see anyone. I started to go down the hallway checking all the office doors, while i was going down the hall, the backup lights above were flickering as I went underneath them. The only ones flickering were the ones that I was directly under, they would stop once I went past them then the next set would start flickering. I checked the rest of the doors, logged it on the sheets, then went down the stairs. As soon as I was at the bottom, I heard someone running down the stairs and I booked it out of the building. Later that night I had to do a midnight checks and I was hesitant to go back into the building, but I would rather die than get an Article 15 right before OLE3 and deployment

  What I’m about to explain to you happened to me not in the Army, it was after I had ETS’d. I was camping one night in my hometown at a friend’s lakeside camping area in Massachusetts. It was a spot I frequented a lot, but always in large groups of friends. We’d have Fourth of July camp outs and many other parties out there many times through the years. After one Fourth of July, I stayed another night after everyone else had already left. At around 4 a.m. while still dark, I’m in my tent and awake to hear footsteps coming toward me. They were large and bi-pedal, the closer it got I realized it was probably a large man. When the steps got within 30 meters of my tent these steps started to sound way to large to be a man. I clutched my knife with fear as the steps closed in on the least few feet of my tent. Now I could hear deep breathing and this deep sniffing as these soldiers describe in the story. It’s right outside my tent snorting and sniffing within in inches of my head and I’m about to explode with fear. It turned around after a copious minutes of investigating my tent and I listened as the bi pedal steps crunched leaves sticks and underbrush as it finally left and my fear level went down. I never saw it. It was distinctly bi pedal whatever it was though.

  I was born on Ft. Campbell in 1970. After my father came back from Vietnam, he took me somewhere &amp; my mother went somewhere else with my older sister. When my father &amp; I got home, he heard a little girl crying. Thinking it was my sister, he searched the house. Except it was empty. My mom &amp; sister hadn&apos;t returned yet. Not much freaks my dad out, but according to the man who&apos;d just returned from an active war zone, he was freaked, especially since this happened in base housing. I was 7, maybe 8 months old, so I have no firsthand memory of the event. 🤷‍♂️

  I retired as a MP out of Campbell in 2022. I said I would never work for the Army again. Well I got bored and I’ve been back working as a civilian police officer on the post since Jan 2023. I regularly patrol the back 40. I will say that we have had legitimate bear sightings in the rear area. One of the pilots even got pics of one on FLIR. So for all the people saying bears, maybe so, maybe not. The strangest things I’ve seen on 2 legs back there have ended up being the occasional trespasser or meth heads. I did however have an experience with weird lights one night. I was patrolling like any other night, hoping to catch some jerk spotlighting and poaching deer in the rear area. I took a gravel road that cuts between a couple of MOUT sites near our largest site Cassidy, which was mentioned in this video. In the sky to the West I saw 5 bright orange lights like fireballs floating at decent altitude. At first I thought they were flares. After watching for a while I became unsure. I spent 10 years in the Navy and 11 in the Army. I’ve used flares both on ranges as well as deployments at sea and on land. I’m well aware of how they seem to hover and then just disappear. What they don’t do is disappear and then reappear in the exact same spot. That’s what these did multiple times. I attempted to rationalize this to myself and said it had to be flares and there must be a night fire happening on one of the ranges. I kept watching for a while and realized there were no sounds of crew serve weapons fire or any other weapons fire for that matter. So, I took it upon myself to call live fire base and ask if they had any ranges or training going on in the rear area. Their answer was no and that was enough for me to say F this and head back to the main portion of post for the night. I still patrol back there often but these days I’m on higher alert. Now that I’ve listened to this episode I will be on alert even more so. I most definitely will not be patrolling back there without my rifle lol.
