  Scotland here. I’ve just been diagnosed with breast cancer. From finding the lump, to visiting my GP, to being referred to the breast clinic in hospital it was 5 days. I received a mammogram, ultrasound and three biopsies and was in and out of the clinic within two hours. After diagnoses confirmed five days later, I was referred for a CT scan the following day and an MRI scan one week after that. Ive  to go for my treatment plan this week. So, from start to where I am right now, it’s been a total of two and a half weeks AND all at a total cost of ZERO! God bless our NHS! It may not be perfect but I sure as hell wouldn’t want us to throw it away for some crappy private healthcare that costs me a fückton of money for the same, or inferior, outcome.

  What seems to be ignored is that countries with universal health care also have companies offering private health care that people can choose if they have the money.

  The &quot;We now own Greenland&quot; thing is Trump signed a deal with Denmark and Greenland. The thing him and MAGA aren&apos;t smart enough to notice is its the exact same deal that they signed post WW2 (which did not have any expiry day or need for resigning) with a new name (and probably simpler wording so the toddler can understand it!)<br>It changes absolutely nothing. But Trump could say &quot;My enemies rolled over&quot; and that&apos;s all he wanted! So yes according to him the US owns it, according to anyone who can actually read, the agreement that&apos;s stood for 70 years still stands! 🤣

  A few years ago (yes I&apos;m an older person), I had a minor stroke here in the UK. I called the non-emergency number (111) - within minutes there was an ambulance with paramedics (no cost, including an anticlotting injection). I was taken to the Emergency Department (serious ER), hooked up to everything available, in a room on my own, and checked on every half hour. Various scans, sorted. 16 hours later, I left hospital, with a full prescription. Cost? Zero! That included a full MRI scan a week later. As you can see, I&apos;m still here...

  Yes the NHS is stretched, yes it can be hard to get a quick appointment, however, &nbsp;if you seriously need an urgent appointment, you get one, no charge.
