She was a member of the Mama and the Papas (“California Dreaming”etc.) Had a solo career as well. Lovely person with such an amazing voice. Gone too soon.

When John Denver sang live in concert, no matter the size of the venue, he could sing a song like this one and make you feel like you were sitting cross-legged on the floor in his living room just you and John and a few good friends.

I always loved John Denver. I cherish the time I saw him in concert. His music got me through some really tough times in the early 70's. Calypso is also beautiful and a tribute to Jacques Cousteau, which was a wonderful TV Program sharing Cousteau's ventures on his ship Calypso.

I saw him in concert when I was 14. John Denver changed my life. When I was 11, I was kidnapped by a man my mom had just started dating. He threatened me and took me home the next day. I felt fear that I had never felt before. But I stayed silent. And he married my mom. <br><br>Somewhere I got a guitar when I was 12. I started playing John Denver songs. His heartfelt songs made me feel things I couldn't feel at home. And his concert was all about conservation and awareness of our planet. And it was almost a religious experience. Transformative. His words and spirit became part of me. I'll never forget him. When he flew off over the ocean, and never returned, my heart broke and part of it flew away with him. But he is still part of me. Call it para social if you want. But some people change our lives. My guitar and John Denver songs got me through until I was 18 and moved out. John will live forever in my heart and soul.
