  I think Shelly is a perfect example of &quot;A good teacher can make any topic interesting but a bad teacher can make any topic boring&quot;. Shelly&apos;s dinosaur knowledge at a surface level is interesting but actually listening to her speak is... she has trouble making it actually engaging or just awkwardly inserts the topic without anyone really asking or just goes full on lecture/ramble mode without waiting for their input. I forget who&apos;s dialogue it&apos;s with but it&apos;s even shown that she repeats herself. <br><br>Even her dedicated attraction seems almost hilariously boring compared to everyone else&apos;s floors. It&apos;s a tiny sandbox with hidden plastic models and you have to collect a bunch to get 1 toy and she doesn&apos;t even participate in it with you herself, and the rest of the floor is just educational movies/lectures.<br><br>&quot;Shelly is the Dinosaur <b>Facts</b> Toon, not the Dinosaur Toon&quot; is probably the best summation of why she&apos;s the least popular Main in universe. Which is tragic, because she probably IS one of the kindest and sweetest toons there.

  I think the reason Shelly was the one to be ignored is that she is a fossil, something of the past.<br>Many people forget the past overtime so a character that is something from the past being ignored and forgotten makes sense.<br><br>MY SHELLAY 😭💔💔

  FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT<br><br>also to add to this, her twisted giving everyone the confused I debuff might look like its just mirroring her toon counterpart boosting extraction speed, but i think it might also show that other toons never bothered to learn who shelly truly is on a personal level, leaving them confused as to why shes angry, because it never crossed their mind that she really could be angry

  I love seeing people noticing how much Shelly is just completely misunderstood as a character. I actually have a few additional things I&apos;ve noticed that are VERY subtle and show much Shelly struggles to stand out and just generally communicate.<br><br>- It&apos;s heavily implied that Shelly is very used to doing things by herself. She is the only main to have a cartoon of herself doing her own thing alone, and that one thing (excavating/assembling fossils) is one that is hyper specific and makes sense she doesn&apos;t really have anyone to do it with outside Tisha. Along with this, we have the obvious fact NOBODY knew she sews or who taught her. Even when she finds interest in cooking from talking to sprout, she doesn&apos;t say she wants to learn alongside Boxton and Cosmo but instead that she would get some recipes from Cosmo, implying she would just do cooking by herself. This all really pushes that she just doesn&apos;t think others would care at all to do things with her and that she&apos;s so used to doing stuff alone that she &nbsp;never goes out of her way to ask others if they would like to.<br><br>- Shelly actually does have a few conversations where dinosaurs facts are not brought up &nbsp;Specifically, I&apos;ve noticed that she tends to not bring up dinosaur facts as a conversation starter with toons she feels at least somewhat comfortable with or that she views in a positive light. Tisha, Yatta, and Astro all are the only key toons where Shelly does not initiate a conversation with dinosaur facts, and while it could be just coincidence, I am firmly in belief that her low self confidence in herself makes her struggle to connect with toons she isn&apos;t already on good terms with, &nbsp;defaulting to falling back on dinosaur facts to impress others. Conversations with toons like Brightney highlight this, as the dinosaur facts brought up were EXPLICITLY to praise brightney for her intelligence, something that brightney herself struggled to understand at first.<br><br>-Shelly likely does not view herself as a good main, despite still wanting to be one with the others. The only toons she talks to that she is surprised that they know her name or are even talking to her are MAINS, she doesn&apos;t act like this to anyone else (I could be missing one or two) and likely comes from years of seeing all the other mains getting far more attention than her. <br><br>Apologies for the long post, I just really enjoy seeing that others notice a lot more in her character than a vast majority of the DW community does at all.

  the friend teaching Shelly to sew is Tisha! Tisha mentions teaching another toon to sew, while Shelly not being directly mentioned, considering they are best friends and no other toon is mentioned to be interested in sewing, it’s easy to conclude such.

  <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnCbfE4b5AI&amp;t=308">5:08</a> In another storyboard is where Shelly introduces Sprout to Cosmo so I personally headcanoned that once she and sprout were alot more close but then he met cosmo and started out hanging out with him more because of the same main interest in baking<br>Which could be seen why Shelly is just spiting out dinosaur facts to see if theres that one toon who will share her special interest and become her bestie for life<br>[i mean she kinda succeeded with tisha because they both sorta like cleaning /Tisha in a more general way, while shelly cleans fossils/]

  I hate how any fanfic with Shelly makes everyone act like a jerk to her so it makes her more sympathetic<br><br>In all honesty, a lot of Toons are bad people. They often brush others aside and fail to take the others&apos; needs into account, as they often are insensitive and can come off as rude.

  Idea- once you get 100% research on a toon when you go back to lobby you get an OPTIONAL cutscene in the lobby that reveals/ expands on the toons lore (for mains they will have two cutscenes)

  As a shelly fan who also has dived into her lore, this video brought me sm joy, finally someone who actually analyses her dialogues and lore !! 😽also to add on, shanon tells shelly in her letter &apos;&apos;to keep cheering the others till she is back&apos;&apos; and she probably NEVER came back, which is why shelly mainly tries to cheer toons on AND her ability &apos;&apos;inspiration&apos;&apos; is the way it is, her twisted counterpart vice-versa. Shelly probably kept on writing to Shanon and the founders, as Dyles gossip implies that :( Seriously shelly and shanons relationship is wholesome, but barely anyone knows of it, whenever i tell somebody of these facts theyre always so surprised 😭
