  Early in Vietnam my dad was issued a m-14.  He soon went to using a 30 Carbine and 1911.  He loved the 30 was much easier to get in and out of the Helicopters.

  60 yo vet here, thanks for the nod. When dad passed, I got his military issued .30 Carbine. He bought it when he got out, just after Korea. It is a solid weapon. He loved it so much, he reloaded a BUNCH of rounds. I'm very fond of it myself. Hell, I still have the military issue canvas bag for it, circa 1943. It is an effective weapon, as designed.

  The concrete and wood parts are interesting because the M1 Carbine was loved by police (including Jim Cirillo) for decades. It was loved because it delivered power without as much of a risk of overpenetration as many other long arms of the time available to LEOs. Looks like it performed exactly like how the gunfighters of yesteryear said it did.

  I think the better statement is that the .300 Blackout is a beast or a round, rather than the .30 carbine being wimpy.  I wouldn't want to get hit with a .30 caliber anything.

  What I love about the 300 blackout is the bullet choices, from an 85 grain copper expander up to a 220 grain expander and all the choices in between. Interesting video. Thanks for sharing.👍🏼

  Love that .30 cal carbine!  I'm 75 and have thought it was the very sexy shit since I saw them for sale at the "Big Gun" hardware store in Burlington, NC in the late 50s!!  Rack after rack of military surplus guns for sale CHEAP!!    Don't care how it performs, It just looks SO cool!!         Now, please continue...

  My dad was a Marine in the Pacific. Tarawa and Okinawa. He hated the carbine. Loved the BAR, found one and carried it.

  The problem with comparing the 30 Carbine and the 300 Blackout is that they were designed for 2 very different purposes hence they will perform differently.
