  old unreal ambience is second to none.  literally untouchable.  that one particular wind noise with the spooky sounds in the background still sends chills up my spine to this day.

  Late 90s was the peak time for 3d games. I still play and adore Half-Life, Quake, Thief the Dark Project, System Shock 2, Unreal, Deus Ex.

  Unreal Tournament deserves an Epic comeback. No game has achieved the aura and immersion this game had. Even the atmospheric music was (still is) peak

  When I was a kid playing UT, I remember sometimes not firing to start the match just to "float" around and vibe in the maps and music. The atmosphere in this game is timeless. Quake 3 Arena has some gems too.

  This game just oozes atmosphere. I always come back to it once in a while. I rate this video 10 skyboxes out of 10.

  The main reason why there isn't much ambience to UT1999 is because of the incredible soundtrack by Alexander Brandon on full blast in your ears (And rightfully so).

  Many of these are designs from the Unreal Gold single player campaign maps revamped to be multiplayer maps, specifically the Na Pali outdoor waterfall environments and the Chizra temple. Pyramid is in the same skybox as the floating sky village levels from Unreal that happens directly after the Sun spire. UT introduced Earth and the city environments, and it seems there are some other planets in the universe as well, but the one with the most maps seems to be Na Pali.

  Never played much UT99, but the feel of these maps is just untouchable. Lightning in a bottle stuff. Every one you loaded was an instant 00's flashback
