  It would have been nice to see other important hanse cities mentioned in your video, such as Cologne - one of the furthest southern merchant cities, who convinced the King of England to expemt the Hansa from all tolls in London and grant them their protection all over the country. But great video :)

  I don't know why but I got feeling that Hanseatic league is predecessor or maybe giving basic idea to Zollverein (for which Prussia use to influence and control north german federation).

  Little correction there: Kraków earned Magdeburg city rights in 1257, mostly based on the Ottonian system of city privileges in the 10th and 11th century.  The main difference was that under Magdeburg Law, the executive and judicial branch of government had to be separated, whereas under Lubeck law the City Council was both. Another difference was that cities with Magdeburg rights usually saw one person heading the council, while under Lubeck law usually four 'burgomeister' (mayors) were chosen or appointed.

  +20 years ago I was a kid when i got first introduced to the Hanseatic League thanks to the PC Game Patrician III (An underrated and complex gem IMO), good God how the time flies...this video brought back good memories!

  There was actually a predecessor to the Hansatic League. It's center was located slightly above Lübeck and a viking village named Haitabu. It basically did the same, as the early hansatic league but was destroyed a few centuries before Lübeck started the Hanse.
