Ex-brony here. The Derpy situation I was around for, and I the guy described it perfectly. We love Derpy still.

Derpy wasn't even an offensive name for the majority of people. It came from an Internet meme that was usually used in reference to someone making a silly mistake. And that Internet meme was named for a joke from the works of Matt Stone & Trey Parker who used the name Mister Derp for an over the top wacky character and used the word Derp before that in their flop movie Baseketball when one of the characters made a silly comedic mistake. There's a reason the people who called it Ablest were in the extreme minority.

It should be mentioned that most warnings and safety rules are "written in blood". Meaning that they exist because of a prior incident that rendered the rules necessary. The infamous Pokemon episode was the incident that led to the television safety warnings that we are all aware of.

Bullets do tend to ricochet through the human body, but that extent is quite high for a pistol round.

Brony from the old days here. They featured Derpy as Derpy for the remainder of the series, thank goodness. MLP was a good time.

The Gargoyles and Tiny Toons response is weird because we got those PSAs on Saturday morning cartoons all the time about underage drinking, doing drugs, and firearms. All of this in addition to PSAs about not setting your house on fire because you left the gas burners on your stove on.

Let’s not forget the stuff that people did get away with in children’s cartoons like a Teen Titans episode where Robin has severe ptsd and was literally strapped down to a table while saying that Slade, a villain who literally fell in a pool of lava, was still alive. Heck even recently I bought the entire Ed, Edd, n Eddy series on dvd and the pilot episode had a water boarding joke.

The Porygon seizure episode cannot be understated. I've seen it while covering my face and looking through my fingers. It hurts to watch. Can't imagine watching it and having no idea what was about to happen.

8:20 - Fun fact about FNAF, the developer had actually tried to make a wholesome religious themed game first. But their characters kept creeping people out and they said they looked scary. So they figured they might as well go with the flow and pivoted into making a scary game instead.
Obviously they made the animatronics scarier than the original characters they had made, but that's a bit of backstory for you.
Some people are just blessed with seeing the cute side of things and wind up making horrifying monstrosities to everyone else~💗
