Interesting history. I’m watching this video sitting in my apartment in the Pillsbury A Mill. It was converted into apartments in 2015.

I am a millwright from Minnesota. I’ve spent a lot of time working in the Minneapolis/St. Paul flour mills. Many of the old buildings still exist. The thing I love the most about it is seeing the evidence of old power systems and old equipment. There a lot of history in those old buildings that are still churning out food for the world every day.

I loved the St. Paul one! Can you do these without the use of AI voiceover please? I’d really like to listen more

Betty Crocker was a made up person, but the idea was so unbelievably successful that the Betty Crocker cookbook has been passed down for 2,3,4 generations of mother /daughters. My wife has One, my younger sister has One. What a marketing idea

Paul, your video is incredible. The detail is remarkable. I don't know how you assembled so many video clips that were almost entirely accurate. So many videos like this include random video from other places that don't relate to the story being told. I can't imagine the time it took to put this together. (I'm a former Minneapolis city planner and supervised the Heritage Preservation Commission at one time.) Best of luck on your future projects.

Fort Snelling was at the apex of the Mississippi & Minnesota rivers. It snakes around Hennepin and Dakota counties. The River valley is not a national park

In the 70's and 80's the line was "The Foshay Tower and the box it came in" when describing the Minneapolis skyline.

Skyway system. Largely unknown fact: Armour bldg in South Saint Paul (and other cities around country) was built to handle WWI demand but not finished until after. It had a skyway system on the third floor and some on fifth, which connected every building in the complex. From the office to canned hams and everything in between. We rented space there for two years. Fascinating.

I loved Minneapolis! I was born there and lived there through grade school. I lived & worked there from abt 1968 through 1985. I loved everything about it. I would never want to live there right now. It's all chaos based on lies and I couldn't stand to see it that way!!

Came here after seeing the video on St. Paul. I found St. Paul's video more interesting. The last 3-5 minutes od this one are the best part of this one.
