  Spartan Ops is where you get introduced to Jul Mdama and where Halsey loses her arm. Although I don’t blame you if you haven’t played it.

  To me, since I have now played all of the Halo games as of recently, the biggest fundamental flaw of this game story is that it does not focus on the one thing that makes a Halo story a story. That being, the exploration of the unknown. It focuses way too much on this Spartan conflict and trying to arrest Chief. It’s a completely unnecessary conflict that feels like you’re trying to prop up Spartans way more than you need to. It puts the idea of what makes Halo so good to the side. That’s why Halo 2 has the best campaign for me, it’s a story that focuses more on the galactic conflicts while having you explore the universe out there that is not known to humanity. Great video as always my man!

  It’s really nice to see this game get recognition for the things it did well, it is a very flawed campaign especially, but it’s not without some merit. If only it had been split more evenly and gave Chief more missions. There’s some nice nuance with chiefs line deliveries as well as his movements in the cutscenes(like the way his helmet is tilted up when he says his last lines to Cortana, and when she disappears he curls up his fist) but there’s just not enough time dedicated to that struggle. This is a really solid and fair retrospective, excellent work.

  I really appreciate that you see the ambition and care that was put into this game. Despite its glaring issues, I’ve grown to still appreciate Halo 5 for its beautiful environments and sense of mystery.<br><br>Great stuff, earned yourself a sub!

  Halse missing an arm was not an issue. Spartan Ops had matchmaking back in the day, and they came out every few weeks or months. <br>The cutscenes can be found online. The Elite Juul is introduced there, and Halse loses her arm.

  Bruh I literally just finished this campaign for the second time (hadn&apos;t played since it came out) and was looking for a retrospective to hear others&apos; thoughts on it. Crazy you just uploaded this, thanks man!

  Its so refreshing to see a video outside the usal halo discourse on 5. I dont even like the game but its nice to listen to a bit more nuance

  I think it’s the level design that stood out for me with this game’s campaign. I can remember key parts of the game based on the different mission areas. The story on the other hand is not too memorable. I didn’t play Halo 5’s multiplayer too much but from what I did, it was really fun. Your video encapsulates my time with the game.

  Halo 5 felt so random. No one needed Osiris. No one needed an evil Cortana. No one wantes the removal of Split screen in favor of 4 splayer Left for Dead. And the story was all over the place. <br><br>I completely agree when you said that the game needes focus.
