  My grandfather was in the NZ SAS, we knew he was in the army back in the day, but found out at his funeral that he served in the unit and was involved in multiple deployments overseas. That explained why he was such a tough bugger. Only Nana knew but nothing said 😂

  Somewhere on a recent military operation US special forces put a sign up outside their Sangar stating “Second to none” so the SAS put up a sign outside their own position stating “ None”

  They didn't just go into Sierra Leone and kidnap people, they were there supporting the Sierra Leone government against these militias. Sierra Leone is a commonwealth nation and had requested help from Britain.

  With Operation Paraquet, the Falklands, along with South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are British territories, inhabited by British Citizens. When the Argentinians invaded, we moved immediately to retake the islands. We protect our own.

  Paddy mayne was a iconic soldier of world war 2 ,before the war he was a rugby player for Ireland and the British lions ,sadly paddy couldn't really handle  life after the end of the war ,he's often been referred to as a lunatic ,a nutcase but during the war he was a all time British hero

  Before Nimrod, very few members of the public were aware of the SAS.  Even today most are unaware of the SBS, the maritime equivalent.

  The Iranian Embassy siege was played out of prime time TV 7.23 PM on a Bank Holiday Monday evening, as you can imagine as a 16 years old at the time my chin was on the floor, like this is REAL . Every channel had it on live, my Mum wasn’t impressed it interrupted  Coronation Street
