  We also have to remember all the brave pilots from Poland and the commonwealth who came to help defend the UK. Edit: &nbsp;Also I wasn&apos;t aware that in fact pilots from all around the world volunteered, all brave souls.

  The average age of the Spitfire and Huricane pilots was 20 years old. We owe them so much.

  There were 9 Yanks who volunteered with the RAF.<br>80% were Brits, alongside Czechs, Polish, Belgians, French, Aussies, Canadians, New Zealanders, South Africans and as mentioned, Yanks.<br>God bless them all! 🙏 🇬🇧 &nbsp;❤️

  My grandads job was to repair and keep as many fighter planes in the air...I couldn&apos;t be more proud of him and I miss him every day.

  The majority of the scenes in this documentary is scenes from the British film that was screened in cinemas called THE BATTLE OF BRITAIN which came out on the 16th September 1969, I saw the film in 1974 at the age of 10. The Precise anniversary day of the Battle is Britain Day is 15th of September. I had a cousin in WW2 who joined the RAF in 1939 and was a member of Bomber Command who was a Radio Operator and a rear gunner in a Blenheim Bomber, he was killed in 1943 where he jumped out of the burning British Bomber that had been hit by German Fighter Aircraft, he bailed out at 10,000 feet but his Parachute never opened, what was left of him that survived the 10,000 foot fall was buried and his grave is in a British Wargraves Cemetery in Italy, he came from Northern Ireland and his rank was Flight Sergeant, I am proud of him and being his cousin. He is one of my heroes along with my late mum and dad plus members of my family that served in the British Army during WW2 and a cousin who served in the Royal Navy. I love, respect and support the Armed Forces of the UK who also make me proud to be British. 💂‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧🇮🇪
