  Remember my time in Afghanistan my British army infantry Regiment we went for a combat boot run with Americans marines, to be fair to the marines they was big lads 💪, in kandahar, our platoon meet them on our way back down the taxiway. Our sgt said if they beat us he will beast us, that&apos;s enough motivation 😂😂 but love the American 🇬🇧🇺🇲 brothers.

  They&apos;re regular tests you are expected to pass as a serving soldier. If you fail, you will be put into remedial training to get you up to standard again.

  There&apos;s no air-con on the battlefield.<br>Training isn&apos;t meant to be comfortable. <br><br>As a former British paratrooper with 5 tours of Iraq and Afghanistan under my belt, endurance is paramount. <br><br>British paratroopers are the equivalent of US army Rangers, in case anyone was wondering what the counterparts on either side of the Atlantic are.

  This is for regular military, from what I know. The Commandos, the SAS, and all the other Special Branches? This is a picnic. THEY demand perfection and almost god-like ability. Our military is smaller than most, so we demand excellence just from the regular personnel. Also, those who try out for the Special forces, if they fail (and survive - I shit you not!), they are not dishonoured nor kicked out of the military altogether. They go back to their former area with grateful thanks for even having the balls to ATTEMPT it.

  There&apos;s no air conditioning in the desert either, so they have to be able to handle it. I certainly won&apos;t be doing it myself.

  British forces are trained for endurance - no point being first in the fight if you can&apos;t fight for 3 hours, get up tabbing 5 miles &amp; doing it again.
