The Dhak brothers and their family were my Grandparents neighbors for a few years, was always extremely friendly and polite to my grandpa, my grandpa would help them with Reno’s and yard work at the house, and they’d always drop off bottles of alcohol and tons of food, invited them to dinner parties etc.. nobody knew who they were at the time until the rcmp started hanging around their house, one day my grandpa got upset cause the police were sitting on the corner all day long so he went out to see why they were there so frequent now and the cop looked at my grandpa and said “watch the news” and that’s when they found out, never affected their neighbourly friendship though.. I remember two of their friends/associates sitting in a red Ferrari in the neighbourhood and I rode my bike up to them, never seen a Ferrari in person before- they were watching the fast and the furious on an aftermarket TV installed in the Dash and I couldn’t believe something like that even existed.. at the time I would’ve been 7-8 years old so I had no idea that’s who lived there, until a couple years ago I was watching a documentary on Lowermainland crime with my grandpa and he saw gurmit and said “that’s my old neighbor- he was shot at Metrotown” and him and my grandma started rehashing all their old memories from when the Dhaks lived there, I never knew them but their lifestyle never had an impact on our neighbourhood and they were always respectful,

Pickton's farm was an after-hours party spot. His brother was a full patch member. Off duty RCMP officers and even the mayor of Surrey were seen at party's at Pickton's farm back in the day. I worked with Pickton's cousin briefly.. second most creepy guy I've ever met. There's definitely a lot more to that story than people know.

a very psychological perspective on the cause and effects of the lifestyle. Not many journalists/youtubers are able to admit that its more of an environmental problem. Good for you man. I appreciate and respect your open mind and intellectual approach to the topic.

Bro, lived through it from the Surrey side, it was an open war. Kids home from school and walking the dog at 4:30pm……. Two cars chasing each other through the hood spraying shots everywhere a monthly occurrence that year. Lots of mistaken identities and innocents hit. Must say that was a time in Vancity at the peak of the build up to 2010 Olympics, everyone had a good paying job and money for $excess$ and the attitude they comes with it. Also this was just before the fentanyl body count started.

There were a large number of Asian gangs long before these gangs got started.

After I read the book “Paper Fan, The Hunt For Triad Gangster Steven Wong” and how he faked his death in Vietnam to escape the RCMP, I got obsessed with it. I went to Vancouver in 97 and went to his parents house. It was a fairly big house with cctv cameras in front. I went to the front door and asked for him😂… his mother pretended not to speak English. I left after that.

In 2009 I was in china for 3 years, I looked around for him but couldn’t find him.
I still find his story extremely fascinating. I highly recommend that book if you’re into gang related stuff.

I used to watch "DaVinci's Inquest"....apparently it was a truthful depiction of Vancouver. Very good show.
