One person who always seems to be left out and forgotten, in my opinion, is Ann Murray. She had tons of hits but never 25:26 mentioned. The funny thing is I'm a 70-year-old rocker, and here I am giving cudoes to her. She deserves it.

Canada has a very diverse musical culture. It surprises me that most americans have no idea. I probably shouldn't be that surprised. Americans mostly dont look beyond their borders

Yes, Canada is the second largest country in the world by area.

2002 was the late Queen's Golden Jubilee. In a command performance, the Tragically Hip was specifically asked to perform for the Queen.

Performers at the Eurovision Song Contest do not have to be from the country they represent. The contest is about the song, not the performer. In 2021, FloRida represented San Marino.

Have to agree that The Guess Who should have been in top 5. They were the first Canadian rock band to "Break out" scoring top 10 hits in the US. They lay the ground work for those who followed. and BTO was born out of the break up and they were not even mentioned. Also have the best band name story .

Steppenwolf origins are with three of their members coming from the Canadian band The Sparrows. They moved to LA and added a couple more band members and changed their name to Steppenwolf.

Kind of insane that at one point the top female artists in 5 different genres in English-speaking-world popular music were Canadian: Dion, MacLachlan, Twain, Krall, and Morrisette/LaVigne (the latter replacing the former in the world of whatever that emo-ish-but-maybe-a-little-too-pop-to-be-emo-but-maybe-it-is-just-emo genre would be).
