  My dad’s dad was a butcher in The Netherlands who was in one of the Nazi labour camps. He was liberated by Canadian forces and after the war was over, he immigrated to Canada because he said they had saved his life and he felt like Canada was suppose to be his home. Him and his wife settled in Sarnia, Ontario and ended up having 10 children. Without Canada’s part in defeating Nazi forces in The Netherlands, I may never have been born. My love for my country cannot be overstated. I was born and raised Canadian and this is my home. We Stand On Guard for Thee!

  Canadians volunteered to fight for freedom  In a country with a population of 10 million at the time over 1 million volunteered.  That says a lot.

  Dutch school kids have Canadian  graves that they  look after . So touching and inspirational.

  Thank you for posting this. There are more than 7600 Canadians buried in the Nethlands<br>and their graves are carefully maintained by the Dutch.

  &quot;I&apos;m Dutch, so from experience yes, it was the Canadians that saved us. &nbsp; They fed the people by sharing their food, their doctors and nurses. &nbsp;Canadians were &nbsp;in the war long before the americans. &nbsp;Canada came immediately to Europe&apos;s assistance. &nbsp;The Canadians reputation for their &nbsp;fighting abilities far exceeds the Americas &nbsp;throughout Europe. &nbsp;Canadians are fearless people standing up for those in need.&quot; &nbsp;This is a direct quote from my 99 year old aunt who lived through the war and was there when the Canadians arriv3d.

  My hometown was leberated by a single canadian soldier going by the name LEO MAJOR thank you sir we are still gratefull.Every time i,m biking on the street named after you i m still think off you
