I’m making collard greens from my garden today and yes, that pot liquor will be consumed with cornbread done right in the cast-iron

Collard greens, could eat those everyday and the broth is better than anything else. So good. I resonate with all these recipes. The healthiest way to live.

Hey Tuskegee!!!! This gives me so many beautiful memories. I really think I’m the youngest person in my town that actually did these things with my dad, and his brothers and sisters. Thanks for sharing this and let’s keep this history alive and going…❤

Thank You for reminding us why we should wash our chicken. Yeah THEY shamed our people for doing this. And to hell with them saying it's okay now. We are the Salt of the Earth.

Your grandmother’s cast iron skillet didn’t need a manual. You just knew when that pan was ready.

This has wet my appetite for some cornbread, greens (with ox tails), and okra with tomato. Thank you for helping me remember my mom and gmom (RIH) Mississippi roots. And, that molasses in warm milk.... 😋 Baybee!!!!

The irony - is with all the chemicals that are put in the food today-our Ancestors took the "throw aways" & survived on them. It is nothing compared to the chemicals put in the food today & you can't even pronounce their names! We better learn the art of survival or we won't survive! 😮😢

You never, ever put soap in a cast iron PAN, you will destroy it, you might as well throw it out after you've done that stupidity, and that's all you have to do. You wipe it out or you put if there's stuff stuck to it a little salt in there and just rub it, it'll go away. And it won't ruin the surface of the PAN and then you just do it.This man said , you just wipe it with a little bit of lard is better than oil , don't use oil use lard

I think the whole situation is sad, and it's hard to believe that no one saw what happened to him, given all the boats, friends, and people around him. Yet, no one witnessed what occurred. How can that be? I’ve watched Columbo, and it's not always about big things. The small details matter; something happened to Nolan Wells, and to me. We aren't hearing anything about those small details. For example, who was he with in his final moments? Another point: you’re taking on water; the boat is sinking. Why would you cancel the tow? A lot was happening in the background. You can clearly hear someone saying the boat is sinking, yet you cancel the tow. Then, when the dispatcher asked if everyone was okay on the boat, he paused and didn't really answer her when he could have. If you've never heard panic before, that’s what it sounds like. Kids were panicking on that boat for some unknown reason, and what that reason was, we will never know now. Because this case was handled poorly. They treated this case as if it were a drowning, and the kid looks healthy to me; I don't believe it.

And "they" stole soooooo much! Including "colonial sanders", and made billions, without giving Us credit, nor benefits for Our Neighborhoods! It's what "they" do! Talk about "lazy?!" "They" were, and still are, "the laziest people on the planet", and stealing 🙄 is "the american way!" Just some pitiful bunches!😒😒😒🙄
