Thank you for sharing your story and being honest. Personally, it has been the opposite for me. Believing in Christ and learning about God is the best decision I've ever made. ❤

I deconstructed my faith before the internet, so I absolutely believed I was the only one who failed at being a Christian, the only one who had the audacity to reject the "good news" of salvation through Christ. It is a VERY LONELY place to be. Also painful and scary - as I had repeated nightmares about Satan coming for me😱. I am glad there are channels like this and others where Christians questioning their faith can go to find community and answers. After decades of having one foot in and one foot out, I ended up also being an agnostic atheist. Nothing else makes sense to me.🤷♀

It's more than a little ironic -- in the poetic way the ancient Greeks would have understood -- that you came to your grandfather's deathbed desperately trying to "save" him, but in the end it was he, in dying, who saved you.
It's lovely and encouraging to hear you speak so personally and reflectively about your own experience deconstructing. You're one of my favorite hosts on The Line because you bring that same humanity to your work. Please keep doing the good work of helping others find their way out.

it took me 32 years to leave, but it was the best decision of my life. I was born again... again. Outwardly, my life didn't change. I didn't 'run away and sin'. But inside, I was so thankful I figured it out and managed to escape. The Truman Show really resonates with me.

I’m sitting here in shock because this is my story. Obviously not exactly, but so very similar. It means so much to me to hear you put your story into words, it is giving me language for my own journey. THANK YOU! I feel so less alone.

Very moving. Explained everything much clearer here with the process and thoughts compared to the other deconversion vid.

Thank you for sharing your story! I don’t have a video in which I share my deconstruction, but I try to leave words of recognition on other people’s deconstruction stories. There’s so much thrash from believers trying to proof how the deconstruction and if only the person followed their denomination or their way of believing they would still belief.

I hear you, went through a similar process, and I see you. I know from personal experience that it’s not easy realizing the whole thing you build your life upon is a lie and that you have to reinvent yourself.

I like that you can pin point the moment that you changed. That was very powerful. Another video I would love to see is how you found your stability. thank you for sharing.

Thank you for sharing your very personal story. Also for the tues and thurs lives etc. It helps me, since my deconversion 2 and a half years ago. Sometimes I can hardly believe that I, actually, am not a christian anymore, (but I'm glad I'm not). Thanks again.

21:11 truer words were never spoken. I've had to give up many friendships because it stopped being about comaraderie and started being about the project of bringing me back.
