My first flight was on a bcal 1-11 from LGW.<br>My dad worked for them out of LGW this gave me my lo e of aircraft sitting for hours on the roof spectators area with my Airband radio as lad miss those days miss the airline!

I first saw a "Caledonian" DC-7 at Amsterdam airport in 1960 while transiting and wondered what country it came from as an American.

I had the opportunity to go aboard several BCAL aircraft with a RedCap ground staff. It was a fantastic day. BCAL's livery is still streets ahead of any other. 🤘

I had the absolute pleasure and honour of working for Bcal, albeit in their cargo operation at Heathrow, later seconded to Houston but summoned back to the UK when the takeover was announced. I can hand on heart say they were by far the best company I have ever worked for in every respect. It's a shame this AI mess doesn't do the story justice.

When I flew from prestwick airport to Calgary Canada in 1982 British Caledonian handled the airline which I flew on which was ward air and it was also a DC 10
