  Also important to note that baseball is &quot;the game of inches&quot; a lot of crazy plays and exciting moments are bc half an inch or half a second is what makes the difference, deking the runner for just enough time to tag them up, a pitch painted on the corner, a runner beating a throw out in a bang-bang play. It&apos;s what makes the game so fun

  The Phillies pitcher at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpmun86b_Yo&amp;t=705">11:45</a> is Vince Velasquez. &nbsp;If I remember correctly, this comebacker (the term for when the ball is hit hard right back at the pitcher) actually broke his arm, but he picked up the ball with his non-dominant hand and threw to first for the out.

  Cubs were fun back then but I&apos;d have to guess this video was probably made by a cubs fan because it has a bunch of good, but pretty common plays with them in it.

  Standing and watching your home run fly together with a bat flip is a good way to get your self or teammate hit with the ball next time you are at bat

  You can lead off base (start going to the next one) kind of as much as you want, but remember if you aren&apos;t touching the base you can be tagged out. &nbsp;The further you are away the further distance you have to cover to run back if they decide to try and throw you out. &nbsp;Faster guy might lead off further than a slower guy for example.

  when there&apos;s a fly ball in the infield (not a bunt attempt pop up or line drive), as long as there&apos;s less than 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd, the umps can basically decide based on how easy it would be for the fielder to catch it (ordinary effort is the term they use) if its an automatic out or not. If so they call the &quot;Infield Fly&quot; rule which basically means the batter who hit the fly ball is automatically out as to PREVENT the fielder from just letting the ball drop and getting an easy double play, bc the runners are expecting the ball to be caught so they don&apos;t want to advance bases even though they are being forced to by the batter, but if the ball is dropped they have to advance, and they&apos;d be out by a mile. so basically when you see clips of pop ups and where they let it drop and get the double play, its a big brain play since no infield fly rule applies. hope this makes sense!

  You asked a bunch of good questions that I wish I was beside you to explain...there is much subtelty to many of the incidents you viewed. They are extreme events of excellence that happen often...for every person you saw being awesome several times...every team has several just like him.

  If anyone is still wondering about the play at <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpmun86b_Yo&amp;t=524">8:44</a>, it used to be if you wanted to intentionally walk the batter you’d still have to throw the four outside pitches to do it, usually the catcher stand off to the side of the plate because they aren’t even trying to throw a strike. In this instance they accidentally threw too close to the plate, effectively giving the better a very easy pitch to swing at when the defense wasn’t expecting the ball to be put in play.
