  The original lyrics are even deeper than the translation. And the gentleman in the leather jacket with the glasses is Reinhard Mey, who wrote this song.

  The forest in the video was the scene of the &quot;Pocket of Halbe&quot; between Germany and the USSR shortly before the end of the Second World War. Many of the fallen soldiers are still lying there. The losses amount to around 10,000 civilians and 50,000 soldiers on both sides.
