The fuel line hose clamp was off because they hook a different fuel source to the engine to test run it at the factory

working on diesels since 1991. work in a shop with 200 trucks. no way that starter fluid did anything. we use it every week, never a problem. you didnt spray enough to hurt that engine.

People , don't over think making the engine output shaft smaller , trust me , bolt engine down , start engine and use angle grinder with a nice flat cutoff disk or better still a diamond disk, with engine running and angle grinder on a few touches and you will have a pretty square straight machined shaft . You will be surprised how square you can get it like that .
