You're going to want to bring the RPMs up to around 2000 RPMs. for about twenty sustained minutes. to break in the new camshaft. or you might end up with a flat camshaft.<br><br>and you need hardened keystock. mild steel won't work.<br><br>without the proper caster adjustment it will dart all over the place.

I just want to say in your defense on driving the bearing in with the hammer handle. It is a soft object which is way softer than the bearing race and driving it from the outer race as you were doing will not harm the bearing in any way. I work as a mechanic in my daily job and have used a brass drift to install bearings before. Let the haters hate, you do what you know works because it will get the job done and regardless of what people say it is still done correctly. =)
