  "Why is everyone an agent?" Don't you remember what Morpheous said? When you're in the Matrix, "they (an agent) can be anyone or no one."

  Sitting in the theater in 1999.....this was the first real 21st century movie.  A lot of the special fx and camera work had never been seen before in any film.

  I cannot tell you just how electric opening night was for this movie. It was a truly amazing cultural moment. No one was ready for the plot and when the climax happened in the hallway, people cried when Neo died and then the theater just erupted in cheers. I was 10 years old and will never forget it. Same year my mom also took me out of school to see the South Park movie.

  The stunt guy getting beat down and thrown around in the subway station for Keanu is Chad Stahelski, the director of the John Wick films :D

  it's so good when today Morpheus says "we gave birth to AI" and all the reactions to that... because when I watched it in 1999, it was a futuristic prediction not reality.

  I saw the Matrix in theaters when it was first released 20+ years ago.<br>You have no idea what it was like to see The Matrix back then. Even with today&apos;s computer graphics (CG) tools, it still looks good - but back then it was surreal.<br>Star Wars Episode I was the most highly anticipated movie that summer and everyone was expecting it to be a CG masterpiece but The Matrix came out of no where and blew it away. It shocked the world.

  A timeless movie, honestly. You&apos;ll enjoy this trilogy. <br>Something to bear in mind, also: It isn&apos;t that everybody is an Agent, it&apos;s that an Agent can be anybody.

  Kamilla - agents can move in and out of any program still “hardwired” to the system. &nbsp;People still in the matrix are programs as well. &nbsp;So there weren’t a lot of agents, they were just able to jump from person to person. &nbsp;Remember when Trinity shot that agent in the head on the roof, then his body turned back into the original guy?<br><br>This was my favorite movie of all time for a long time. &nbsp;I saw it in the theaters 4 times, and I almost never go to the movies. &nbsp;They did such a great job of advancing the technology of movie making, without distracting from the story telling. &nbsp;Never feels like over 2hrs to me.

  There arent a ton of Agents, &nbsp;just the same three(at least that we saw in this movie.) &nbsp;But all the humans not onboard the ship, &nbsp;that are in the matrix, &nbsp;are still plugged into the Machine AI. &nbsp;Which means the Agents can take over your existence whenever they need/want to. &nbsp;So like when Trinity shot the Agent on the roof during the Morpheus rescue attempt, &nbsp;the Agent left that human body and moved on to the next one, and left on the roof was the body of the helicopter pilot he took over and died while in control of.

  When the Oracle said to Neo about being the one “Looks like you’re waiting for something, another life maybe” I’d say Neo was only the One when he was reborn ( another life ) inside the Matrix. Also don’t forget the prophecy said of a man born in the matrix who could change things. When Neo came back in that hall way from death, he was in fact born in the Matrix as the prophecy said.

  The way they could contact anyone and know everything that&apos;s happening isn&apos;t too complicated. While they were talking to him on the phone, he was in the Matrix and they were watching it live on their screens.

  it is an absolute shame that there are no if very few reactions to the animatrix. &nbsp; one of the best sources of information about the universe of the matrix and extremely entertaining.
