Instructions unclear, where does the dog go?

    I did the math so y’all don’t have too.. it’s around $1500..
Very well curated, wish I had that much to drop on camping gear. My motto camp set up is almost twice the weight (25-30lb) but cost 1/3 of the price. Though my creature comfort is a sleeping cot, can’t seem to sleep well with an inflatable pad.

Great video and good kit. Back in the day when I rode and camped. My whole kit was a thermarest. That's it. It was a good night when a picnic table was available to sleep on. I would just stay in my riding leathers, take off helmet, roll out the thermarest and go to sleep. In the AM wake up, roll up the thermarest, put on helmet and go. I did 100's of thousands of miles that way. If rain was forecast I'd sleep under a bridge or awning whatever, or grab a room depending on how remote I was. Rarely I brought a small kit for coffee/cooking but I always found stopping in a small local cafe was not only entertaining interacting with the locals but also gave me a bathroom for you know. Most state/fed parks had bathrooms and showers when I was ripe enough.

Great kit and really compact. I run a pretty similar setup.
For me, how you pack the bag makes a big difference in efficiency.
This is how I usually pack mine. I always use a cheap plastic bag as a pack liner. No matter how waterproof the bag is, I still use one.
Inside the liner I put my quilt, spare clothes, and sleeping pad — basically the stuff I really don’t want getting wet.

Then I close the liner.

On top of that goes my food and cook kit.
Then my tent and Nemo chair.
Right at the top I keep my rain jacket and ground sheet.
That way when I get to camp, those are the first things I can grab. And if it starts raining, the rain jacket is easy to reach.

I'm always happy to hear someone talking about the benefits of small packed size. Size matters.

I’m a bikepacker. I rode with similar gear from Banff Canada to New Mexico. 2700 miles in 35 days. Light weight is so important on a bicycle because you are the one creating the power. No motor.
