  Chapin was one of the good guys. He gave tirelessly of his time and money to charity and wrote songs that reflect his and our humanity. He died in an auto accident at the age of 38 on his way to a charity event. RIP Harry

  The live version would melt you. RIP Harry<br><br>I feel like every parent needs to listen to this song. Time is fleeting. Make time for you kids and make time for your parents

  The song was based on a poem written by his wife, he was so brilliant.

  Harry said this song (written by his wife) scared the hell out of him and changed his life. Unfortunately, he never got to grow old, killed in a car crash on his way to a charity concert at the age of 38 😢

  You have to hear &quot;Taxi&quot; by Harry Chapin. He had a classically trained cellist in his band and that song has a great cello part with beautiful counter melodies, etc. 🙂🙂🙂🙂

  No song has had a greater impact on my life. My dad died in 1976. I was 9 years old. I first heard this song a few years later, and I promised myself on the spot that if I ever had kids, I would always make time for them. I am now 58, and my two kids are 19 and 22. I have kept my promise. It made my day to see that you two were reacting to it.

  My son is 30, and we have an inside queue that we send to one another on occasion. &quot;Hey! Cats in the cradle!&quot; We both know exactly what it means. Regardless of anything going on we make absolutely sure to respond to each other and make time. &nbsp;Because, he IS just like me!

  So this seems like an appropriate time to say that - as a 56 year old man that is closer to the end than the beginning - i&apos;m glad that you two sisters have stayed close over the years - I don&apos;t know if you have other siblings - but i&apos;m glad that you two seem to have a genuine affection for each other. &nbsp;I can&apos;t tell you how many times in my life I&apos;ve met people who have little relations with their own siblings. &nbsp;So i hope you both always stay involved in each others&apos; lives. &nbsp;Thanks for sharing this one.

  The song is very special to me. I listened to it with my parents many times and they stressed the importance of its message. The systematic build of the story is genius and crescendos with that heart breaking realization that…”My boy was just like me.” 😢

  Harry Chapin tragically died in a car accident back in 1981. He was definitely one of the great storytellers. This song is a timeless classic. Thank you for your reaction and excellent analysis Panya and Par!
