  Always loved Andy&apos;s hair trigger serves. No dillying or dallying, just toss and smash 140mph howitzers every time. He would go through whole service games so quickly. I think the fastest service game I ever saw was Andy&apos;s -- ace, unreturned, ace, unreturned -- the whole game took like 20 seconds. Novak would take 20 seconds just bouncing the ball to open the game.<br><br>That 2012 AO Final was epic but there&apos;s a reason why it took 6 hours -- Novak and Rafa both serve at a snail&apos;s pace. They are part of the reason why there is a serve clock now.

  I would say that Andy&apos;s serve changed how modern pros serve.<br><br>Andy had an extreme trophy position where his racquet was facing to his right and his legs fired his motion meaning that he had more distance to accellerate the racquet explosively which is why he could serve 150 plus consistently whilst only being 6ft1/2. This rarely gets talked about. And now many pros are copying his extreme trophy position.<br><br>I would love to get Andy&apos;s thoughts on why he had such a powerful serve whilst not being a giant.

  The “other” serve used more commonly than the platform serve is usually called a pinpoint serve.

  I&apos;m a chucker, I do the platform serve, but spent ages with a stance which was too wide, made my stance narrower and my serve improved immediately and significantly.

  Hearing Dementieva&apos;s name unironically mentioned among best women&apos;s serves was the last thing I expected, but it was interesting to hear Kim&apos;s reasoning for considering that 2nd serve really tricky to return.
