  I think it was Kim Clijsters who said it. Eala's second serve is apparently kind of like Dementieva's. It's slow, though not as predictable, but it has so much action and spin that it's very difficult to attack. From what I've seen as to its effect, that seems very likely.

  When she develops a power serve that she can do on call, her serve arsenal will be even more deadly. She should retain her ultra slow serve.

  Andy, that was such an interesting take on Eala’s slow serve. And I couldn't agree more. People think it’s simple, but it’s actually quite complex given what she can do after the serve. She’s figured out how to turn what’s supposed to be a weakness into an advantage and use it to make her opponents uncomfortable. Of course, she still wants to improve it, but she’s being smart and making the most of what she has right now. It also makes her game so much more interesting and fun to watch.

  I'm a FilCan, never watched tennis, now I have developed an interest to the sport. My husband is lecturing me how the game works 😁 in order to understand the game better and when to cheer😆😅😂😆.. Tennis now is one of our household sports 😁🥰🥰.. Proud of you Alex, way you go!!!! We are rooting for you🥰❤️🙏

  Filipino tennis fans call Eala's slow serves the "Fookelya" serve. It is a volleyball term about shaky, nerve-inducing serve that somehow works as it causes panic on the other side. Eala's 'slow' serves makes up with lots of spins than pace (mostly slice serves) and this technique is used by elder Filipino club players because they don't have the physical strength to serve fast. They sometimes land halfway on the service box so you have to chase them. I encountered someone serving like that and if you are not very careful, your ball will either go to the net or it goes out. It forces you to return it nicely. It's an error inducing serve. 😂😂
