  quitting a job on the spot is a privilege in a way, but it shouldn’t be. there’s always a reason and as you said in your story you didn’t feel safe or welcome. that’s not a privilege that’s abuse

  After I finished therapy, I felt similar to the person who lost a lot of weight suddenly. Who am I without the plague of my trauma? Who am I now that I don&apos;t need to rely on dark humor instead of facing painful feelings? Who am I now that I&apos;m not constantly running on cortisol and adrenaline? Still answering that question every day, but I&apos;m now happy for the opportunity to find out, because I&apos;m way healthier and happier now

  1st story happened to me too! Walked in to my grandma’s house, heard her talking about gift cards w/ some sh*thead scammer. She had already bought the gift cards too-which are usually non-returnable/nonrefundable. I asked who she was talking to, told her to hang up immediately, listened while she tried to politely hang up, only to have them re-engage her over &amp; over. I eventually grabbed the phone from her, berated the scammers &amp; hung up FOR her. <br>I was so angry. She was embarrassed, thought I felt sorry for her (which I did but I would never say that) &amp; my son &amp; I did everything to reverse all the damage &amp; explain to her all the scams we could think of, the tactics, used &amp; how to handle it next time.<br>Thankfully, it was nowhere near the amount in OP’s story, but it took lots of time &amp; calls to “fix.” Scammers m don’t care what they’re taking from others’. <br>At least she ignores the unknown emails &amp; calls now…if I could only get her to stop answering the door for “roof repairmen”…😤🤦🏻‍♀️

  Every summer I visit my family cabin where there is no cell phone service, internet, or television. It is always extremely healing and refreshing! I swim in the lake, walk through the forest, sun bathe, read books, eat good food, have campfires, and journal.

  You don&apos;t have to disconnect from your phone for a weekend or whatever to live in the moment. When my friends come over we play board games. Screens are away and for several hours in the day we are just playing board games, laughing, talking, enjoying the company and always being present in the moment. You just have to have self control to know when it&apos;s fine to be on the phone or watch tv or whatever, and to know when you should have your screens away and just be present.
