  The Mist ending is for the film. Apparently the novel is different, but King liked the film so much he prefers that ending so he said.

  Million Dollar Baby is even more tragic. It is implied that he kills himself as well, since he pulls out two syringes in the euthanasia scene.

  The saddest thing about when the wind blows is that on the pamphlet it said that you can hide in a cellar/basement (which they had) and they might’ve had better odds to survive in there

  Requiem still gives me the fear. Ironically, the girl who showed me the movie became a drug addict. DID YOU LEARN NOTHING?!...&lt;note&gt; she did recover though not until after some excessively horrible misadventures. She is doing well and got her life back together

  the maze runner honestly had one of the darkest endings, humanity is being driven to extinction with no hope of survival, there are only about 200 people immune to the disease as their one hope, and we find out that they did this to themselves, they released the disease on purpose as a population control measure, leading to their own downfall.

  Requiem for a Dream has permanently altered me, I think. I actually felt sick when I finished it. The greatest film that I will never watch again.

  I always liked the idea that for the ending of The Thing, neither Childs nor MacReady are things. <br><br>All the events leading up to this point has fueled so much mistrust and paranoia that they both believe the other having been assimilated, but in reality they are the only 2 humans left.

  In the book the Time Machines ending is slightly different to what you explained. When he comes back from the future, his guests at the dinner table completely reject his story and so instead of going back to the future to find more proof, he basically disappears without reason. The narrator even says that he could have gone anywhere in time, even the past, and it is implied that he wantes to escape the social divide that lead to the division of humanity
