At 100, 000 miles do these:
1.cold start
Do a 25-30 seconds cold start before moving the car.
2. Short trips slowly destroy the engines, it causes moisture build-up, is burnt away by longer trips which are needed.
Moisture build-up causes oil sludge. Do some longer drives of 25-30 minutes.
3. Oil change
Quality, oil viscosity, change oil filter. Use 5W30 or 10W30. Use good quality oil
4. Sensors
MAF sensor - measure amount of air entering the engine
Oxygen sensor- sit in the exhaust and tell engine if engine-fuel mixture is right, balnced.
Coolant temp sensor - report the right temperature
5. Heat is engine killer.
If overheating, toward 250F, replace worn thermostat, clean radiator,
5. PCV Valve
If clogged or stucked, change every 30 to 50,000 miles.
6. Dirty fuel injectors
Clean and service. Clean every 30-50,000 miles.
7. Warm-up mistake
Idling cold is bad. Start engine give it 30 seconds, then drive gently.
8. Change transmission fluid 40-60,000 miles
9.carbon build-up
Occasional highway driving
10. Listen to your car
11. Cheap parts
Use original ones , OEM or high quality
12. prevent problems
Pop the hood, listen to the engine.

Something you may also think about is : "Checking your gas mileage" at each/ every fill up? I do, and something I've found,, was that all of the sudden,,,,,, car ran NORMAL,,,,but gas mileage was lacking........... then , I've checked my maintenance book,,,,,,,,,looked up past maintenance performed..........decided to check my Distributor Cap and Rotor,,,,,,,,,> Found "both" > Worn,,,,cracks in the distributor, and rotor worn,,,,it was about 40K since my last replacement.

There are vehicles with pattern failures, design and manufacturing issues. Examples: Hyundai's Theta II engines, GM's 6.2 engine, Ford's Double clutch transmissions, JATCO transmissions, Stellantis numerous electrical gremlins, Toyota's twin turbo Tundras, etc. Maintenance matters in a primary way yes, but if there are basic flaws in design or execution, that's a prime mover. It's no accident that a 1994 Acura could make it to 600K miles. Those were sturdier, even overbuilt vehicles, those days, with Lexis and Acura. Today it's different.
