In the UK, scoff means to eat the f***ing lot, or eat something in a hurry as Kaylin said, but it's also used in the other sense, to scoff at someone or something.

In the UK, if we wanted to "table it", we would say "shelve it". I suppose things on tables get used often, things on shelves get forgotten about. More often we would just say, "lets just pick it up later".

The US 'table it' would be 'shelve it' in the UK which as a Brit seems to make way more sense, to put something on the shelf for later

To table something is derived from British parliamentary language, as in "to table a motion".

The benefit of the word "skive" is that you don't need the noun for context like you would "skip".

If you say "I'm skiving", people automatically understand that you're taking a day off work or school, or otherwise avoiding putting in the effort.
If you say "I'm skipping" without specifying "school" or "work", people would just assume you're jumping rope or frolicking.

I've always heard "suss" as an abbreviation of "suspicious" as in "This deal is a bit suss." so to "suss it out" means to look into something that you don't trust. "Yeah, sounds like a good deal but we need to suss it out."

"Momentarily" is used the same way in the UK as it is in the US: to mean "shortly." I think someone is confusing it with "momentary," which means "lasting a short time."

In the UK, we have two words pronounced and spelled 'scoff'. One means to eat not just quickly but also greedily. If I'm scoffing something down I am probably cramming my mouth full of food as quickly as possible. The other word, ' to scoff' means to shower derision or scorn on someone or on something in a contemptuous manner.
