No character customization, it just gives you a random character at the start of each run.

The funniest thing about earth’s world building is that stories exist within the earth project, and they objectively have better world building

-Pay to win mechanics<br>-No updates from the devs <br>-No one’s even sure if spectator mode is real<br>-No mod interactions with players, seemingly entirely community and honor based <br>-No set planned story, writers seem to be making it up as they go along<br>-Devs utterly ignore requests for balance or patches<br><br>Why do we still play this shit?<br>-It’s free<br><br>Oh.

DONT FORGET that they were just too lazy to render 70% of the ocean so they just decided to just label it “unexplored”

>Entire galaxy of suns, stars, planets, asteroids, etc.<br>>Can't physically reach them because of engine limitations on movement<br>>Still RENDERS THE WHOLE THING IN REAL TIME

Fantasy be like:<br>>has magic and flying creatures<br>>still uses horses and carts as main mode of transport<br>Earth be like:<br>>has nuclear energy<br>>still uses coal as main energy source

man that went from "haha giraffes are so weird" to "to live is to suffer and we must cling to what beauty we can make for ourselves in our fleeting lives" REALLY fast

A problem I have with the npcs is that they keep disappearing and getting replaced with new ones, like every 80 sun revolutions or so, the kid I just met goes away. some rando guy from work, my character has never talk to, just goes away, and suddenly my character is depressed and questioning life? Seriously, this feature is so annoying.

As worldbuilder, I have found two ways to interpret the message of this video:<br>1. Don't make your world overly complicated.<br>2. If you make your world so overly complicated that noone, not even yourself, understand it, you can brush it off as "realistic".

Don’t forget that depending on initial spawn location and conditions, you can get soft locked into an unbreakable cycle or even worse you can just get eliminated before you even have a chance to level up

One thing that hit me while I was doing a daily quest: <b>"aging"</b> has to be one of the universe's best-on-paper/worst-in-practice ideas ever.<br><br>>over time give newbies a series of permanent buffs up to a point, to help them settle in<br>Sounds great.<br><br>>apply debuffs to veteran players to keep the game challenging<br>And here we shit the bed, because <i>the debuffs are </i><i><b>also</b></i><b></b><i> permanent, and they never stop coming.</i> They <b>INEVITABLY</b> get to the point where they get your character killed no matter how safely or skillfully you play, and as others have pointed out this is a game with permadeath and where rerolling is an unconfirmed rumor among the playerbase.

<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I-GpS5PCcLc&t=40">0:40</a> It's called good game design, If you took damage the instant you made contact it would feel annoying and maybe unfair, it's a react time window.
