  The problem with Tempe is, and I learned this recently becoming an apartment dweller for the first time after 42 years of my life, is that if the units aren&apos;t sound proof, there is going to be massive amounts of problems because nowadays, no one respects their neighbors or communities they live in. I have learned that in cali and now north Idaho. People will do what they want when they want with ZERO care for anyone else. Obnoxiously loud car at 5:30am, blasting music so loud the entire next door apartment hears in every room, it doesn&apos;t matter. People are absolute assholes nowadays. It&apos;s all, me me me me. It&apos;s my life.

  Insisting that people exist in one place, and all the facilities they require be physically located somewhere else is contrary to our nature as human beings, and is a recipe for isolation and absolute misery. This nauseating mess has been aped in Australian suburbs, and they are a living death. I lived such a life for 10 years, and never again. It is utterly soul destroying.

  My suburb neighborhood rocks. It’s a huge planned community with miles of walkable sidewalks and trails. Restaurants, a grocery store, and most importantly bars are a 10 minute walk from my house. Only 2 dead bodies have been found here in the past 10 years.

  Problem isn&apos;t suburbs, it&apos;s culturally looking down on walking. We have suburbs here in Norway, but every store is withing 20 minute walking distance.

  This is made by someone that never lived in a nice suburb. &nbsp;There&apos;s no way I could dragged into a crowded dirty crime-ridden city where everyone lives on top of each other and you can&apos;t leave your doors unlocked. &nbsp;Two grocery stores, bus stops, and dining are within a mile of my house. &nbsp;His first description of a suburb sounded more like rural living than suburbs.

  This really boils down to taste, budget , plus not all suburbs are created equally. I moved from NYC to Long Island 25 years ago and I love it. I still live in an apartment co-op but I get alot more for my money than in Manhattan. Thanks to this, I have the luxury of a car and can visit the beach or go to the mountains of upstate NY. &nbsp; Long Island has main streets with local grocery stores, salons, resteraunts, etc. <br><br>I don’t ever want to see a bus or train station ever again. &nbsp;I don’t want to hear a cop car or fire engine every five minutes. I don’t want to leave my apartment and see thousands of people walking around. I sleep with my window open and can hear a pin drop. That’s MY preference and <br>I’m happy I can live it.
