I'd say the most exciting action sequence in Ordinary People is Timothy Hutton's Conrad (yes, it is a dumb name) beating the hell out of Adam "Animal Mother" Baldwin's Stillman. I like O'Keefe's performance in the Great Santini better than you, though I certainly wouldn't have voted for him to win. It was a tough night for him all around because whoever was responsible for the camera work put Martin Scorsese on camera instead of O'Keefe during the announcement of that award. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=He0gGiPNduo&t=794">13:14</a> shows it. Ouch. Breaker Morant is quite a good movie. I'd rate it higher than Ordinary People. Lastly, you might double think some of your jokes next time. I don't think I'm the take offense easily type but why take a shot at guy with hook hands just because he is in a movie again? If your budget allows, maybe see if Bruce Vilanch is available.

I know it sounds very cool and edgy to say Raging Bull should have beaten Ordinary People. Why is Raging Bull so amazing? Its got a great performance by DeNiro but what is it really about? A really mean man that nobody could stand? That pretty much covers it. He is so mean nobody wants anything to do with him. He's mean in the ring and at home. What is so interesting about that story? Oh and he gets fat at the end. Here is a big miss in the 80 Oscars, Robert Redford should have been nominated for "Brubaker" and Yaphet Kotto should have been nominated for supporting actor.
