  The xm4 was peak Sony headphone. The xm5 was a disaster because the headphones rotation and folding, causing much consumer dissonance for people who upgraded. However, the xm5 was better charging, and infintesimaly better anc. The xm6 corrected all the rotation and folding issues.

  I had the XM4 for 2 years and the XM5 for 3 years. Recently tried the XM6. The decision which one to get depends on what you want... to me comfort, noise cancellatiok and call quality are most important and i kept the XM5...

  I got the XM4 for $230 USD and they're great.  Yes, it's a 5 year old model but honestly they hold up very well and still relevant in 2025.  They seem to be pretty popular at that price point I see them multiple times in the city just walking on the sidewalks.

  Thanks for the video, been heavy user of xm5 (6-10 hours daily) for the past 3 years, comfort and battery are still alright, change pads every 3-6 months. the gear withstood all kinds of physical stress and serves me well to this day. I will upgrade to xm7 or xm8, as mine are not goIng to die anytime soon

  I think the best part of this review is the practical view that an ANC is for phone calls first, music second. That is great advice. For me, I have the XM5, been trying to decide if I want to jump to XM6, and you helped with a few extra goodies on the XM6, but the 5 continues to be great. I also have the Airpods Max, which weigh a ton! Sony is my recommendation for headphones for a 10 hour flight (Airpods Max, you will need to take breaks given the weight).

  Hopefully they fixed that speak to chat feature. Doesn&apos;t need to be able to turn back on by accidentally touching the left cup. That could be a better in app only feature

  The pricing is quite interesting. Every reviewer says the price has gone up from previous model, but at least here in Finland XM5 price was 500 € at launch but now XM6 will be 470 €. A slight drop.

  I’m going to continue with the QC headphones till Bose released something new this year. Comfort is extremely important to me. My ears would touch the XM5 so had to return, the xm6 seems same if not worse in that regard.

  Have XM5 and totally agree about having to fish for the buttons. A vocal queue or more distinctive sound when turning on/off ANC would have been nice. &nbsp; I’m not sure how both passed a &nbsp;Human factors study? Also agree about the magnet closure, much better than a zipper. I actually don’t mind the size of the case. I only use these headphones for flying and the thinner profile despite being bigger fits my backpack better and easier to pack around or put in a laptop. I find earbud ANC can be very good, so only for certain travel do I prefer the XM5. For pure listening I prefer my wired over the ear. Just some things for people to consider before paying $400 +
